Die Kompositionen von Heitor Villa-Lobos, Alberto Ginastera und John McLaughlin stellen die moderne Gitarrenmusik mit all ihren Facetten vom Temperamentvollen, Feurigen bis zum lyrisch Sanften dar. Jeder dieser Komponisten hat seinen unverwechselbaren Stil entwickelt aber allen gemein ist der Reichtum an Ausdruck und Klang.

Heitor Villa-Lobos’, Alberto Ginastera’s and J. McLaughlin’s compositions represent modern guitar-music in all its variety: temperament, passion or lyric mildness. Each of these composers has developed his own unmistakeable style, but what they have in common is their great variety of expressiveness and strains.

Zu hören sind unter anderem die Mahavishnu Orchestra-Stücke ,Resolution', ,Hope' und das vertrackte ,Birds of Fire‘. Diese Arrangements sind schlichtweg grandios, super gespielt, und auch die scheinbare Reduktion auf eine Gitarre lässt nichts vermissen.
